Hello, I'm Donna Taylor with Living in Central MS! Today I'm providing a detailed overview of Ridgeland, MS, the PROS and the CONS. It's great to have insights into the pros and cons for people considering a move to the area. Read below OR Check out our YT video:

Pros:

  1. Things to Do: Ridgeland offers a variety of activities, including extensive shopping, dining, and outdoor options. The presence of two malls, Northpark Mall and Renaissance Mall, along with biking and walking trails, contributes to a vibrant lifestyle.

  2. Cost of Living: Ridgeland is highlighted for providing good value in terms of housing. The average sold price over the last six months is $389k, and there is a range of housing options available, from $99,000 to $1.7 million.

  3. Proximity to Jackson: Being a quick 10-minute drive from Downtown Jackson, Ridgeland provides easy access to the city, including the airport, making it convenient for residents.

Cons:

  1. Homeownership Ratio: About 50% of Ridgeland's population consists of renters, which might be a consideration for those who prefer a higher ratio of homeowners. This is notably different from Madison, where 95% of residents own their homes.

  2. School Ratings: While Ridgeland offers some excellent private school options, the public schools in Ridgeland are not considered as strong as those in Madison. Families with school-aged children might prioritize Madison for its better school ratings.
